Description

This is truly a Mint Timepiece.  The marked Bunn Special, Illinois Watch Co., Springfield, Jeweled Barrel, 23 jewels, adjusted temperature & Six positions with the serial number 2810011 dating it to 1916. The dial is a double sunk, Montgomery Dial and is in mint condition. The case is a 10k yellow rolled gold plate case.  It is marked Star Watch Case Company, 10K Rolled Gold Plate, 6583844.  The case has a New Old Stock Class Crystal and the bow is tight. Illinois Watch Company

Dating back to 1869, the Illinois Watch Company produced some of the finest and most collectable pieces in American Horology.  Founded in Springfield, Illinois, the Illinois Watch Company used more names on their movements than any other firm.  In the beginning the name Illinois Springfield Watch Company was used until 1879.  Springfield Illinois Watch Company was adopted until 1885. And finally, until the Hamilton Watch Company purchased the company in 1927, the company was merely the Illinois Watch Company.
